Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo confirms October 2028 return
The Hong Kong Performing Arts Expo (HKPAX) will return in October 2028, following a second edition that brought together more than 2,000 participants from 60 countries and regions.
Held from 9-13 October 2026, the event connected artists, producers, presenters and cultural organisations through more than 40 performances and over 40 curated conversations, exchange sessions and networking activities. Its wider programme, including public and partner events, recorded more than 39,000 visits.
Discussions explored touring, commissioning and co-production opportunities. Hong Kong groups Toolbox Percussion and TS Crew also signed memoranda of understanding with counterparts in Singapore and the United States to support performance exchanges and international collaboration.
Hong Kong Arts Development Council chairman Kenneth Fok said the expo had developed beyond a marketplace into a meeting point for exchanging ideas and building partnerships, strengthening connections between Hong Kong, mainland China and the international performing arts community.
Organised by the council with sponsorship from the Hong Kong government’s Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, HKPAX also received support from the China Merchants Foundation, which sponsored the closing reception and Student Pass.
