ArtMaster raises $2.4m to develop AI-powered music learning
The Prague-based company behind piano app Artie has secured seed funding to develop personalised practice support, with plans to expand into other instruments and creative skills.
ArtMaster, the company behind the Artie piano-learning app, has raised $2.4 million in seed funding to develop artificial intelligence models for learning music and other creative skills.
New investors include Factorial Capital, Reflex Capital and music technology company Moises, alongside individual backers including Anchor co-founder Nir Zicherman. Previous supporters include Warner Music Group chief executive Robert Kyncl and Beat Saber co-founder Jaroslav Beck.
Artie combines personalised learning paths with feedback on users’ playing, aiming to give independent learners more structure during practice. ArtMaster says the app attracted more than 500,000 users within a year.
The company grew out of a Prague music school founded by Radim Vysoky and Michal Novak. Its move into online video lessons during the Covid pandemic widened access, but highlighted a limitation: recorded tuition could not respond to individual learners’ difficulties.
'Beginners are often making six mistakes at once. They need help prioritising what to tackle first,' said Vysoky.
ArtMaster plans to develop Artie beyond evaluating performances and recommending lessons. Proposed capabilities include simplifying difficult passages and generating exercises tailored to a learner’s needs and musical interests.
The company reports average monthly growth of 38% in paying subscribers and 39% in monthly recurring revenue since October 2025, although it has not disclosed the underlying subscriber or revenue figures.
While piano is its starting point, ArtMaster intends to extend its technology to other instruments and, eventually, a wider range of creative skills.
