York St John University has announced details of a number of free, collaborative, continuing professional development (CPD) events for music technology educators working in the Secondary and FE sectors.

Originally restricted to sequencing and recording, York St John’s CPD courses now include:

  • Audio Mastering Perspectives
  • Mixing Perspectives
  • Digital Audio Workstation Composition
  • Songwriting (& Recording)
  • Music Production for Film
  • Recording Perspectives

Chris Johnson, Lecturer in Music Production at York St John University, said:

‘These events, whilst not directed specifically for any particular qualification, aim to be collaborative and of use in our teaching and, importantly, contribute to teachers’ CPD needs. Delegates can sign up for as many of these courses as they wish. These collaborative CPD events are important to us too as they provide us with insight into the ways in which the subject is taught to the students who we hope one day will become our students!’
