World’s largest educational music publisher restructures European management

Hal Leonard Europe has announced changes to its European senior management team to accelerate its global strategic initiatives

Hal Leonard Europe has announced changes to its European senior management team to accelerate its global strategic initiatives.

Heading up its UK operations in London, Tom Venvell becomes the UK Managing Director. Venvell, a musician with music teacher parents, has been with the company for ten years, rising rapidly to European Sales Director, a role he will continue to play. He will report directly to Hal Leonard’s CEO in the USA, Larry Morton.

‘During his time at Hal Leonard, Tom has been a major contributor to the phenomenal growth that we have achieved in Europe,’ says Morton. ‘He helped to establish and lead a sales division spanning eight different locations. His commercial flair, combined with his management skills and expert knowledge of our industry, will help ensure our UK business thrives.’

In addition, Tom Farncombe expands upon his role as Strategic Partnerships Director to become European Business Development Director. He will be spearheading new concepts in digital sheet music and online learning initiatives while continuing to develop music education partnerships and the company’s other business interests across Europe.

Farncombe came to Hal Leonard from the Music Sales Group (now rebranded as Wise Music Group), where he was Managing Editor. He is a Director of the Music Industries Association. He will report directly to Jeff Schroedl, Executive Vice President of Hal Leonard in the US.

Hal Leonard is the world’s largest source of music publications and publishes over one million copyrights. Its European operations include centres in Belgium, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy and the United Kingdom.
