The founder of the Scandinavian Cello School, British cellist Jacob Shaw, has reported that five young musicians are en route to Denmark following the school’s offer of support for students affected by the crisis in the Ukraine.
Based near Copenhagen in Denmark, the school will cover travel costs and provide accommodation and food for the students.
Shaw told MUSIC:ED, ‘We do what we can to help. I hope others will follow our lead’.

War has no place in music. War should not get in the way of music education.
Scandinavian Cello School has the space to host four string-playing music students – who have their education interrupted for the areas directly affected by the current situation happening in Ukraine.
We will reimburse your travel costs to our school near Copenhagen (Denmark) and provide you a place to study, live and eat free of charge until either the situation changes or we find for you a more permanent option.
We stand with those of you affected by this situation.
