UK music undergraduates asked to share experiences and perceptions of instrumental and singing teaching

Dr Kerry Boyle of Canterbury Christ Church University has been carrying out a research project on undergraduate music programmes across the UK and has invited students to participate.

Dr Boyle is asking students to complete a short online survey or to volunteer for case studies to help inform understandings of the culture of instrumental and vocal teaching and learning, including the range of courses and methods available in the UK. It also seeks to find out undergraduates’ thoughts on music teaching as a career.

The 10-minute survey asks students about their experiences of teaching and learning to date. All participants must be studying at an undergraduate level on a UK-based music course. Survey responses are anonymous and all data will be stored according to data protection legislation.
