German music software specialist Steinberg has teamed up with digital amplification designers Line 6 to create an all-in-one recording package for guitarists.
The Guitar Recording Kit combines hardware and software to give guitarists all they need to use their own computers to record. Expected to cost around £400, the kit includes a UR22C two channel audio interface with 2 D-PRE Class A microphone preamps and 32 bit / 192 kHz support, a Hi-Z high impedance input for direct recording of guitar, MIDI in and out and iOS connectivity. There are two analogue combo inputs, separate headphones bus, latency-free DSP-powered monitoring with REV-X reverb, channel strip and Guitar Amp Classics.
Steinberg’s Cubase Artist 10.5 production, editing and sequencing software is also included with their award-winning 64-bit floating point audio engine with sampling up to 192kHz/32bit resolution and offering 5.1 surround, flexible routing and full-automatic delay compensation. It comes complete with virtual instruments and a suite of audio and MIDI tools. With the Cubasis LE multi-touch sequencer app, it makes it possible to record, edit and mix on iOS handheld devices.
The icing on the cake for guitarists is the Line 6 Helix Native guitar amp guitar and effects processor, which offers the company’s acclaimed vintage and modern amplifier, speaker cabinet, microphone and effects modelling.
The whole package even comes with a five metre guitar cable and a set of Steinberg guitar picks.
Steinberg’s Senior Marketing Manager, Stefan Schreiber, commented, ‘Together with Line 6, we’ve been able to deliver something very special. The Guitar Recording Kit combines first-class components bespoke to the needs of guitar players, allowing them to record their music at home.’
