Singapore conservatory appoints new board members

Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music has announced the appointment of Nicholas Chan, Director, PIFINvest Limited, and Low Jia Hua, Managing Director of the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra to the organisation's Governing Board.

Yong Siew Toh (YST) Conservatory of Music has announced the appointment of Nicholas Chan, Director, PIFINvest Limited, and Low Jia Hua, Managing Director of the Metropolitan Festival Orchestra to the organisation’s Governing Board.

The Governing Board provides strategic direction and guidance to YST to support its objectives in music education and scholarship both in Singapore and internationally.

Ms Chong Siak Ching, Chair of the YST Governing Board, said, ‘We are pleased to welcome Nicholas and Jia Hua to the Board. Nicholas will bring rich experience from the legal and finance sectors, as well as his passion for music and education. Jia Hua will be the first Conservatory alumnus to join the Board and his experience as a musician and entrepreneur in Singapore will add to the diverse expertise of the current board.

‘On behalf of the entire Board, I extend our deepest appreciation to Robert and Siu Yuin, for their leadership, insights and dedication as Board members from 2003 and 2008 respectively. They have helped steer YST in its growth from its early stages, and I thank them for their immense contributions and support.’
