RSL Awards (RSL Classical/Rockschool) is pushing further into the classical music education sphere with the launch of a violin syllabus based on an eclectic repertoire of compositions from Handel to Florence Price to Dua Lipa.

This new exam repertoire includes high-quality recordings, together with backing tracks and piano scores to enable an individual approach to the new exams. The Performance Certificate and Full Grade exams (both face-to-face and digital) include a Free Choice Piece option for teachers and students.

RSL says it aims to break the grip of traditional works on exam repertoire: ‘With works by female and male composers from the global majority across Classical, Classical Crossover, Jazz and Pop, we believe this is an exciting, engaging and relevant syllabus for teachers to use with their emerging violinists’.
