Founder of More Music, Pete Moser, launched a three-year community music programme in Hong Kong with a week-long residency from 12-19 November 2018
Remixing Community
Entitled Remixing Community, the new programme follows 12 years of community music development in partnership with Hong Kong arts organisation, Centre for Community Cultural Development (CCCD).
Composer, performer, teacher and producer, Pete Moser, and a core project team will work with local educators and community musicians to develop Remixing Community projects in all 18 districts of Hong Kong.
They will also:
- create and run a new elders choir
- organise annual showcase performances
- produce recordings of songs and music
Community Music Leadership
Pete Moser introduced the programme with four evening sessions on Community Music Leadership in different locations across the city from 14-17 November 2018.
Participants were invited to come together with guest leaders, Ah Chuen, Cat Chau and Andrew Lui, to confirm values, consider pedagogy, develop a vision for the new programme and continue to develop a friendship group of musicians.
Sessions explored:
- Leadership
- Making songs with diverse communities
- Wellbeing
- Partnerships
Pete Moser’s residency also saw him conduct training, performances and meetings across Hong Kong.
