The English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS) has invited young people aged 14-18 who can play an instrument confidently to register for one of its National Youth Folk Ensemble Sampler Days.
The National Youth Folk Ensemble brings together talented young folk musicians from across England to create and perform inspiring new arrangements of folk music and work with leading folk artists. Sampler Days take place throughout the country in May and June 2018.
Each Sampler Day features:
• music workshops with the National Youth Folk Ensemble’s Artistic Director 2016-19, Sam Sweeney, and leading folk artist-educators, Rob Harbron and Miranda Rutter
• a Q&A with Ensemble staff
• an optional short audition for those who wish to apply for the National Youth Folk Ensemble
The days are free of charge but registration is required.
