International music school, Point Blank, has announced details of its new venture in partnership with Chinese tech giant, NetEase‘s electronic music subsidiary, NetEase FEVER.
Plans for Point Blank China, Point Blank’s fifth music school, were unveiled at a special ceremony at Hangzhou International Expo Centre on 16 January 2019.
The ceremony was hosted by:
- Qian Ronggen, Deputy Director of the District Committee Publicity Department and Cultural Creative Department
- Wang Luojun, member of the CPC Work Committee of QianJiang Century City
- Zhou Jun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the NetEase Group
- Jessie Wang, CEO of NetEase FEVER
About Point Blank China
Point Blank China’s vision is to inject even more creativity into Hangzhou, the capital of China’s Zhejiang province.
Following a successful partnership between QianJiang Century City, a new commercial and business centre on the Southern bank of the Qianjiang river, and NetEase in 2017, Wang Luojun expects that the addition of one of Point Blank’s music schools to the surrounding area will forge a brand new culture label and spark a wave of young and talented artists.
Based in the Zhejiang National Music Industry Base in Hangzhou’s Xiaoshan district, Point Blank China will feature 6,000 square metres of state-of-the-art facilities including studios for DJing, music production and recording/mixing, practice and performance spaces, a break-out area and more.
Everything from DJing and music production to singing, songwriting and industry insights
A range of courses will be available to Point Blank China students as well as introductory level courses for those aged 12 and above. These will cover everything from DJing and music production to singing, songwriting and industry insights.
Additionally, a broad spectrum of subjects will include specialist modules such as music for games and film, ensuring pathways for those passionate about music and media.
Students will also gain full access to Point Blank China’s facilities as well as regular masterclasses, panels and industry discussions with renowned artists and a range of discounts on software and hardware.
