Piano Stories on Stage raises funds for piano teaching

The Frances Clark Center in New York starts its 2021-22 series of online piano lecture/recitals with a performance by Spencer Myer on 29 October.

Myer will perform Beethoven, Larsen, Chopin and Kreisler in the first of 10 recitals leading up to next May. Myer, apart from being a greatly celebrated pianist, is a renowned teacher of Collaborative Piano at the Longy School of Music, Bard College, Cambridge, Massachusetts.

His recordings have been released by Harmonia Mundi, Naxos and Steinway and Sons label. He is a Steinway Artist, a board member of the New York City-based Musicians Foundation.

The Frances Clark Center is a not-for-profit organisation established to promote piano pedagogy in schools and colleges, to support teachers and help those less advantaged access the world of piano playing.


Tickets for the Piano Stories on Stage series cost US$20 plus any further donations people wish to make to the centre. Full season tickets for all 10 lecture/recitals cost US$159.

The Spencer Myer recital takes place on Friday 29 October and subscribers will be able to access the recording for 48 hours after the event.
