Call for urgent government funding for UK creative industries

Our World Without Culture

The Creative Industries Federation (CIF) has launched a campaign calling on the government to provide urgent funding for the creative industries to help creative organisations and professionals who are facing particularly challenging times because of the coronavirus pandemic.

According to the CIF, with theatres, venues, museums and galleries closing, film shoots being postponed and festivals being cancelled, more than half of creative organisations and individuals have already seen a 100% drop in income. 1 in 7 creative organisations who took part in a recent industry survey believe they can last only until the end of April on existing financial reserves, with only half thinking their reserves will last beyond June.

The #OurWorldWithout campaign is being promoted on the CIF’s Twitter and Instagram channels.
