New PGCEi specialising in Group Instrument Learning

London Music Masters and Birmingham City University have launched a PGCEi course in partnership to train the next generation of outstanding musical instrument teachers.

London Music Masters and Birmingham City University have launched a PGCEi course in partnership which will train the next generation of outstanding musical instrument teachers.

Initially focussing on violinists, the course provides participants with practical training to support teaching groups of students, as well as introducing current teaching and learning theories that underpin outstanding practice.

The full-time course runs from September 2019 to July 2020 and is designed to fit around participants’ work schedules. The course comprises one intensive week, four weekdays and 18 weekdays.

Applicants should be qualified to undergraduate degree level or equivalent, be of Grade 8+ performance level on the violin (other instruments will be accepted from 2020) and have teaching experience. Bursaries are available.
