Rockschool is expanding its longstanding collaboration with MusicGurus to introduce a series of tutorial videos for aspiring drummers.
Featuring Pete Riley and Stu Roberts, who recorded the Rockschool syllabus, the videos guide learners through each drum grade (Debut-Grade 8) and highlight the principles of professional drumming found in the Rockschool grade books.
Users can:
- loop and slow down performances with the MusicGurus video player while being able to see demonstrations from a range of camera angles
- access the equivalent grade’s digital sheet music and backing tracks with interactive sheet music tool, Replay.
The tutorial videos are available in the Rockschool shop as follows:
- Debut to Grade 5: £35 per grade
- Grades 6-8: £36 per grade
About the tutors
Pete Riley
Pete Riley is widely regarded as one of the UK’s leading educators in modern music. His drumming career has seen him play with the likes of Guthrie Govan (The Aristocrats), Republica, Billy Sheehan, Paul Gilbert and Keith Emerson.
Stu Roberts
Stu Roberts is a freelance drummer and educator. As well as performing with Take That and Lulu, Stu has held chairs in many West End theatre shows including Spamalot, Jersey Boys and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
