Naxos Music Box offered free for classical lockdown learning

Naxos Music Box, the new educational package created by the Naxos Music Library for Key Stage 2 and 3 UK students, has been made available free to schools until 12 February 2021

Naxos Music Box, the new educational package created by the Naxos Music Library for Key Stage 2 and 3 UK students, has been made available free to schools until 12 February 2021.

Music Box is designed to introduce children aged 4-12 to orchestral music and includes a library of over 4000 listening examples by over 50 composers. There are extensive sections on instruments, music history, world music and stage and screen music. The resource includes teaching materials and activities for students such as puzzles and quizzes. It offers over 25 multi-part classroom activities and 40 interactive listening activities and is equally suited to self-learning, home-schooling or class lessons.

Usually available as a subscription, Naxos decided to offer it for free to try to help with the challenges of schools lockdown. ‘Music educators are crying out for more varied resources to help with blended learning a delivery,’ said Naxos Music Education Sales Manager Julian Edwards. ‘We’re really pleased to be able to show our support for already-under-pressure teachers by making Music Box available totally free of charge for all schools and institutions in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.’

Teachers can visit www.naxosmusicbox.com for more information, and should contact Julian Edwards directly for access to the education version at jedwards@naxosmusic.co.uk.
