Music Teachers’ Board Grades 6-8 awarded UCAS Points

UK-based international exam board, Music Teachers’ Board (MTB), has announced that its Grades 6-8 are eligible for UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) Points.

The points are equivalent in value to those of other Ofqual-regulated music boards and are available for candidates who have taken MTB’s qualifications since 1 March 2019. They can be used by students applying to universities from 2020 onwards*.

About Music Teachers’ Board

MTB offers instrumental graded qualifications created by teachers for teachers.

Developed over several years, MTB’s new Ofqual-regulated Grades 1-8 are recorded in the lesson by the teacher, submitted online and marked by specialist examiners.

*As the next annual update by UCAS to further education establishments takes place in May 2020, MTB cannot guarantee that points will be accepted for students applying to universities in 2019 for places in 2020. Candidates are therefore asked to check with prospective education establishments.
