Music Generation invites entries for Anthem Competition

Irish national music partnership programme Music Generation is looking for aspiring songwriters, singers, rappers, composers, and musicians to participate in the 2023 Education and Training Boards Ireland (ETBI) Anthem Competition.

Established ten years ago, the Education and Training Boards are ‘celebrating heroes and learners’ from across the different regions served by the Boards and showcasing the services they provide to in local communities throughout the country, from community national schools to community colleges, youth, adult and further education and training. 

As part of the tenth anniversary festivities, ETBI in partnership with Music Generation has launched an anthem competition that celebrates the work of ETBs and their core values .

The successful anthem will be professionally recorded at the Windmill Lane Recording Studios in Dublin and showcased at the ETB Conference in Cork City in September 2023.

The panel of judges includes composer and producer Bill Whelan, musician, composer, and broadcaster Ellen Cranitch, as well as rapper, producer, and songwriter MuRli

Get involved

  • The competition’s closing date for entries is 12 noon on 29 May 2023
  • Entrants are free to compose for vocalists and instrumentalists, such as singers and rappers, in any genre or style
  • Entries can be performed by an individual or group and may involve one or more instruments
