Music for Youth National Festival 2019 programme announced

National music charity Music for Youth has announced details of the 2019 edition of the organisation's flagship event, the National Festival, which takes place in Birmingham from 3-6 July.

National music charity Music for Youth has announced details of the 2019 edition of the organisation’s flagship event, the National Festival, which takes place in Birmingham from 3-6 July.

Open to the public, the live music sessions at the festival feature 10,000 of the UK’s brightest young musicians performing jazz, brass, classical, folk, choral and contemporary music at city-centre locations across Birmingham including Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and Symphony Hall.

The National Festival includes workshops and other participatory events as well as a Festival Fringe.

A new element for 2019 is the MFY Festival Hub, located in Symphony Hall throughout the event. The hub is aimed at teachers, young musicians and their friends and families. As well as an exhibition space, the hub programme will be include performances, Q&A sessions and digital sound games.
