Regarded as “the cultural heartbeat of the South West”, we perform over 140 concerts each year, serving our home territory of over 10,000 square miles with full symphonic concerts in Poole, Bournemouth, Exeter, Bristol, Portsmouth, Basingstoke, Cheltenham, Salisbury and beyond. Alongside our busy concert schedule, BSO Participate deliver events in over 200 locations across 23 Local Authority areas, extending our reach and impact far beyond the concert hall.
Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra offers a number of work experience placements for young people.
Age range 14-18
In these placements you have the opportunity to complete your Bronze Arts Award (a Level 1 award on the Regulated Qualifications Framework) under the guidance of a member of staff from BSO Participate.
If you are a student studying music at a university, please get in touch with Jess Craig (BSO Participate Coordinator) to discuss work experience opportunities for individuals aged over 18.
Please note that our work experience is based behind the scenes with the Orchestra’s management and administration team, which does not involve rehearsing or performing with the musicians.
