A new cultural strategy published by the Scottish government states that ‘culture is central to Scotland’s wellbeing and cultural, social, economic and environmental prosperity’ and advocates culture as ‘a central consideration across all policy areas, including: health and wellbeing, economy, education, reducing inequality and realising a greener and more innovative future’.
A Culture Strategy for Scotland sets out a collaborative vision for culture and the guiding principles, ambitions and aims which will enable it to continue to flourish, evolve, and help to stimulate its transformational power across society.
Museums, galleries, theatres and heritage organisations are to be given access to technology and digital skills training to help them reach new and diverse audiences.
