INTERKULTUR and Rundfunkchor Berlin seeking singers for virtual Brahms

Simon Halsey will direct a virtual performance on 10 May with daily rehearsals from 4 May

The international choral organisation INTERKULTUR and Rundfunkchor Berlin are inviting all interested singers to participate in a virtual performance of Ein Deutsches Requiem (A German Requiem) by Johannes Brahms.

Starting on 4 May 2020, under the direction of the honorary conductor of the Rundfunkchor Berlin, Simon Halsey, there will be a daily 30-minute virtual evening rehearsal for the fellow singers from 19:30 CET via the Facebook event Sing Along Concert ONLINE or the YouTube accounts of Rundfunkchor Berlin as well as INTERKULTUR. Rundfunkchor Berlin will be heard in each rehearsal.

The rehearsal schedule includes one new movement from Ein Deutsches Requiem on every day of the week. The project will culminate in the virtual final meeting on Sunday, 10 May at 19:30 when singers will perform the 4th movement of the Brahms Requiem, Wie lieblich sind Deine Wohnungen (How lovely are they dwellings fair).

The organisers are asking all singers to record themselves at home in concert attire for the final meeting and to share the videos and photos under the hashtag #SingAlongConcertOnline on social networks.
