Local artists Daniel Chu, Janice Vidal and Walter Kwan present ‘I am what I am’, a three-concert multimedia tribute to Hong Kong legend Leslie Cheung, from 30 March to 1 April 2023 as part of the HKT x WESTK POPFEST.
Curated by West Kowloon Cultural District, the new 10-day POPFEST is designed to enables audiences to experience the best of the Hong Kong pop music scene, offering a vibrant programme of indoor and outdoor performances, and showcasing over 70 acts in exciting new crossovers and collaborations.
The Leslie Cheung tribute blends music and memories, revisiting influential moments in the singer’s genderfluid artistic career. Arranged and performed by music director Chu, the tribute includes classic songs such as Chase and I Am What I Am, and honours a seductive, flamboyant, enigmatic star who left this world much too soon.
