HK Philharmonic golf fundraiser supports orchestra’s education programs

The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) hosted its first-ever charity golf event in February 2023, at the Hong Kong Golf Club in Fanling. Nearly 70 golf and music enthusiasts participated in the event, which was led by Andy Kwok, former HK Phil Board of Governors member and current Captain of the Hong Kong Golf Club.

Distinguished guests, including former and current HK Phil Board Members, long-term HK Phil supporters, and philanthropists from various sectors, attended the event. Guest conductor Maestro Benjamin Northey and several HK Phil musicians also participated, fostering stronger connections between the orchestra and its audience.

The event raised funds for the HK Phil’s free education and outreach programs, ensuring world-class orchestral music remains accessible to the community. The afternoon began with a performance by The Orchestra Academy Hong Kong fellows and concluded with the prize presentation ceremony led by HK Phil Chief Executive Benedikt Fohr and Charity Golf Organising Committee Chair Andy Kwok.
