Publisher Hal Leonard commissioned Richard Michael to write a book with video examples about his experiences teaching jazz piano, released in February 2021 as Jazz Piano for Kids. The book is most relevant to teachers who want to add more jazz and improvisation to their lessons, but can also be used for self-teaching.
Richard Michael is offering two interactive sessions to showcase ideas from the book on Saturday 27 March at 10am (Uk/Europe session) and 4pm GMT (North America session). The practical workshops will show participants how simple jazz can be, enabling teachers to develop improvisation skills in both their students and themselves.
