UK charities Sound and Music and Community Music are joining forces to present the Go Compose Inspire Day on 7 August.
The event is an exciting collaboration offering 13-18 year olds the opportunity to create a piece of music using samples which the participants will make themselves. This day of activity will introduce participants to basic music recording and production techniques using sequencing software. If that sounds complicated, fear not! This day is aimed at beginners and will give them the tools to go on to further explore making music using technology at home.

The Go Compose Inspire Day runs from 10am-6pm on Wednesday 7 August at The Purcell School, Bushey WD23 2TS, United Kingdom.
The day concludes with an informal sharing of everyone’s work (5pm) which family and friends are invited to.
Places are free and are offered on a first come first served basis. As places are limited we therefore recommend reserving your place as soon as possible.
Please email education@soundandmusic.org to register your interest.
The day coincides with the week-long Sound and Music Summer School for Young Composers, and Go Compose Inspire Day participants are invited to join the Summer School composers for an evening talk on Creative Careers in Music. This optional evening session runs 7.30-9pm and for any Go Compose participants who would like to attend, dinner will be provided in-between the end of the Inspire Day and the start of the talk.
