RISE – opening Brent’s year as London Borough of Culture

RISE is the opening event of Brent’s year as London Borough of Culture. A large-scale outdoor display with a local community cast of hundreds, telling the story of Brent through dance, projection, film, and an incredible soundtrack. RISE will take place on Saturday 18 January 2020.

RISE will chart how this corner of the capital travelled from the margins to impact culture in Britain, through its music, activism, and rebellious spirit.

Large-scale projections will illuminate Wembley Park’s newly generated Olympic Way, welcoming people to Brent to celebrate the start of its year as London Borough of Culture.

The event will be curated by Southpaw Dance Company and feature performances from Brent-based professional dancer and choreographer Andrea Queens. Everyone is welcome!
