Scottish Association for Music Education webinar: P7-S1 Music Transition Classroom
This online event supports the transition of learners from Primary 7 to Secondary 1 in the music classroom.
The focus will be on examples of material from a transition project delivered in schools by the two presenters, one working in Primary schools and the other in a Secondary school. Their resource pack will be available for all participants to take away.
The pack is based on the Music Concepts Checklist for National 3 Level and is possible for non-musicians to use successfully. There is material for each of the N3 styles: Blues, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Musical, Scottish and Latin American. All excerpts and backing tracks are available as mp3 files.
A crucial part of the resource pack is the liaison between primary and secondary and the presenters will discuss how this actually works. This webinar should provide ample material for a P7 to work on throughout their final year of primary school.
