RCS Strings online summer school (ages 12-17)
The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s online Strings summer school is a five-day course that will bring young violin, viola, cello and double bass players from across the globe into a unique and inspiring learning world filled with opportunities to develop their knowledge, practice and performance skills.
The course is aimed at 12–17 year olds playing at Grade 6 and above who want to continue their practice and learning at home, develop their technical and performance skills, and connect with like-minded people. This course will be delivered on MS Teams and Zoom.
This course offers one-to-one tuition, technique and performance classes and ensemble coaching – all from the comfort of your own home. The course will be led by Andrea Gajic, supported by academics from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and professional musicians from the world of string playing.
The course will provide young musicians with an opportunity to:
- develop musically and technically
- build repertoire and performing experience
- become aware of various practice techniques and the importance of critical listening
- meet other students passionate about music

Please note our Online Teaching Policy states that children under 13 taking part in live online activities must have a parent/carer present at the beginning of the session who can confirm they are happy for it to go ahead.
