RCS Popular Music online summer school (ages 12-17)
The Royal Conservatoire of Scotland’s three-day online Popular Music summer school aims to help young songwriters and musicians broaden their knowledge of popular music and develop their creative voice.
This unique course is aimed at 12-17 year olds playing at approx. Grade 5 level or above. It offers supportive activities for either songwriters or instrumentalists including one-to-one tuition, collaboration sessions and music production – all from the comfort of your own home. This course will be delivered on MS Teams and Zoom.
The course is also an opportunity to begin your home recording journey or expand your knowledge further if this is something you already do.
- The course will provide young musicians with an opportunity to:
- Develop musically and technically
- Find out more about music production from home
- Explore new ideas in songwriting or playing
- Meet like-minded students passionate about music
- Receive feedback and advice from tutors with excellent knowledge of the music industry

Please note our Online Teaching Policy states that children under 13 taking part in live online activities must have a parent/carer present at the beginning of the session who can confirm they are happy for it to go ahead. On application you will be asked to confirm that you have read and understood this.
