*CANCELLED* Issigeac International Music Academy Vocal Course 2020
Sing the Fauré Requiem in France with Brian Kay
Spend an unforgettable singing holiday in one of the most beautiful villages in France.
Principal choral tutor Brian Kay is a BBC radio presenter, conductor and singer and was a founder member of the King’s Singers. He is noted as a choral conductor and is currently Principal Conductor of The Really Big Chorus, the largest choral society in the UK, and is Vice President of the Royal School of Church Music.
In this six-day course Brian and the choir will prepare the Fauré Requiem, Bob Chilcott’s Dances of Time and a new Agnus Dei specially written for the occasion, culminating in a Saturday evening performance in the local church.
Throughout the course the Academy’s staff of professional tutors will be hosting informal concerts, masterclasses, social events, talks and visits and giving group tuition so there will be plenty of opportunity to get together and sing other works in a variety of styles.
All coaching will be in English.
To make our course extra special, international opera star Dame Ann Murray will, at the same time, be coaching a small group of advanced soloists who will give daily masterclasses and a recital to inspire and entertain us all.
Our host village of Issigeac is south of Bergerac in the Dordogne region of France. This beautiful medieval village is very popular with visitors with its winding streets and overhanging half timbered buildings.
Issigeac is famed for its weekly Sunday market, one of the top 10 best markets in France! Bergerac airport is only twenty minutes away and is served by many of the UK’s regional airports.
Accommodation is not included, however we do provide an extensive list of excellent local accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets.
Many of our staff are fluent French speakers and are on hand to assist you.
