Festival of St Cecilia 2021
November 17 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
The Festival of St Cecilia has been the flagship event in UK charity Help Musicians’ calendar since 1946. It is a key moment for us to come together to celebrate what music brings to all of us and mark the contribution that musicians make to our lives.
2021 marks the event’s 75th anniversary and holds even greater significance given both the devastating toll the pandemic has taken on musicians and the role that music has played to sustain us during these challenging times.
This year’s service will be held at St Paul’s Cathedral in London on Wednesday 17 November at 11.00am, followed by an optional lunch at the Merchant Taylor’s Hall.
Under the direction of Andrew Carwood, Director of Music, the combined choirs of St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster Cathedral and Westminster Abbey will premiere an anniversary anthem to celebrate the charity’s centenary year.
Special guests include:
- Judith Weir CBE anthem composer
- Dame Evelyn Glennie soloist
with more to be announced
After the festival was presented online in 2020, we are delighted that music lovers will once again be able to experience the event in person.
Lunch tickets are priced from £76 – £95. It is FREE to attend the service at St Paul’s Cathedral but you will still need to reserve your ticket by 5pm on Friday 5 November.
As an independent charity, Help Musicians relies on the generosity of donors to fulfil its mission. Please consider supporting the thousands of musicians still recovering from impact of the pandemic by making a donation when booking.
