We also curate news items from our advertisers and partners as well as third-party sources.

News covers:

  • music and arts education
  • music industry
  • policy and research
  • funding and finance
  • the world of work
  • resources
  • news relating to events such as competitions and courses

Where news is published

Main news stories

  • are sub-edited by our team
  • appear in the main news area of MUSIC:ED as well as being highlighted on the homepage
  • are posted out through our social media channels and in our e-newsletters

Community updates

  • are posted within different areas of MUSIC:ED Community by our team and Community members
  • are quick updates or snippets, similar to posts on mainstream social networks like Facebook or LinkedIn

Main news – basic requirements

  • Items should be genuinely newsworthy and relevant to our readers
  • Content should not be promotional/advertorial
  • Each story must have a header image (landscape image sized at 1440px x 540px, without text overlay) together with caption and photographer credit
  • Include relevant weblinks
  • We need a contact email address and phone number in case our team needs to clarify aspects of a story
