Hong Kong Arts Festival, Hong Kong’s biggest arts event, which last year drew 90,000 people to opera, dance, and stage performances, has been cancelled because of the coronavirus outbreak.
Some events could be rescheduled, some cancelled, according to one venue manager. The coronavirus emergency has also badly hit groups such as the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and Hong Kong Ballet.
The annual festival, now in its 48th year, was scheduled to run until March 15 and was to have featured some 50 dance, music, theatre and operatic programmes.
