Bradford to host finals of 2024 Leeds International Piano Competition

Bradford has been selected as the location for the final round of the next Leeds International Piano Competition.

Because of the ongoing refurbishment of Leeds Town Hall, the usual venue, the finals will be held at Bradford’s St Georges Hall on 20 and 21 September 2024. The decision was made to strengthen the historical and cultural ties between the two cities and to align with Bradford’s status as the UK City of Culture in 2025.

Competition CEO Fiona Sinclair said, ‘St George’s Hall is a stunning and historic venue in the heart of Bradford, a city with amazing personality and warmth. In the 100 days before Bradford becomes UK City of Culture, we are proud to celebrate the culmination of our 2024 Competition with our friends in Bradford in front of a global audience.’

The earlier rounds leading up to the finals will be hosted by the University of Leeds, and The Leeds Piano Trail, featuring public pianos, will be enhanced in 2024 with a street piano festival and unique sculptures.
