Specialist online auctioneers, Amati Instruments Ltd, has announced that it is offering, by auction, a collection of predominately new instruments from a closed-down shop in the Netherlands.
The catalogue will be available to view online from Friday 19 January 2018 and bidding ends on Wednesday 31 January and Thursday 1 February 2018.
Comprising around 270 violins (from 1/32 to full size), 25 violas (from 1/4 to full size), 90 cellos (various sizes) and over 600 bows, plus many miscellaneous lots, this is a rare opportunity for music schools and colleges to acquire large numbers of similar instruments – with many lots being batched together in groups of five or more.
A special viewing day is being held in London at the Langham Hotel in Regent Street on Sunday 28 January 2018 (10am to 6pm) alongside a free valuation day.
Amati holds regular auctions of antique stringed instruments, including violins, violas, cellos and bows, ranging from their general sale, ‘Amati Affordable’, every other month to specialist sales offering higher value items.
