Chief Executive of Arts Council England (ACE), Darren Henley, made the case for expanding the National Plan for Music Education to include 0-5-year-olds at Tri-Borough Music Hub’s Early Years Conference on 6 September 2018.
Musical Development Matters
The one-day conference, which took place at London’s Royal Albert Hall, also saw the launch of Musical Development Matters, a new guidance document by Early Years Music Specialist, Nicola Burke.
The document forms part of the legacy of Tri-borough Music Hub’s Tri-Music Together project (funded by Youth Music with an evaluation report available here).

A free download of Musical Development Matters is available here with a hard copy available for £8.00 here and supporting documents, films and evidence available here.
Entitled The approach of ACE to early education and the role music education hubs can take in supporting this sector, Darren Henley’s speech can be read in full in the MUSIC:ED magazine here.
